Move Review: Body Attack – it’ll make you sweat!
Do you love a good high intensity workout? Some would say HELL NO but I think there are some of you out there who love them, like me! Call me crazy but I enjoy pushing myself for the duration of a fitness class, zoning out and getting out all the tension. It’s therapeutic! So when I came across Body Attack at my local fitness studio, I knew I had to try it. It’s been around for a while now but I’m fresh back into group fitness classes and was very keen to give Body Attack a go. And yes I’m in love! Here’s a review of the class.
What is it?
Body Attack is a Les Mils fitness class that is a high energy, whole body cardio workout. It’s designed to increase your cardio fitness, tone your body and improve agility. There are no weights involved, you just use your own body weight. There’s lots of running, lunging, jumping, pushups, squats and burpees. High Intensity Interval Training moves are used and the whole workout can burn up to 730 calories. Awesome in the lead-up to Summer!
Who’s it for?
I would lying if I said it wasn’t intense! You are moving pretty much the whole class and you definitely work up a sweat. I think it’s aimed more at higher fitness levels but like any fitness class, you can do lower intensity moves if it becomes too difficult. The beauty of it is you can work your way up to finishing the whole class as you get fitter and stronger. That feels pretty good!
Where can you do it?
You’ll find it at most group fitness centres that offer Les Mils classes. I do it at beatsGX as I like the feel of the studio and they offer solely group fitness classes. And the sound system is amazing! It definitely gets you motivated to do a high energy class when the music is pumping with original tracks.
So if you’re looking for a good intense workout, look no further. I’m definitely going back for more!
