I love the start of Football season here in the States…even though our team is not doing well…again. We’re diehard fans anyway and dutifully put on our creamsicle orange come game day. In our house football Saturdays start with College Gameday early in the morning, but we have kids, so it also means soccer Saturdays! Whatever the case, Instant Pot (and crockpot) meals are in high demand during the season so we can give our full attention to football/soccer life. That’s where this delish low FODMAP Turkey Chili comes in.

Chili time

Everyone in our house loves a good chili, especially as the weather starts to change. And it’s always on the menu for our annual college football opening weekend party! This version is particularly healthy and surprisingly tasty given that there are no onions or garlic in it. It is also super easy and quick in the Instant Pot. It fits with the low FODMAP diet and elimination plan (learn more about this here) and you can still load it up with corn chips, cheese and jalapenos if that’s what makes you happy! When prompted for feedback (who am I kidding, my family happily gives “constructive criticism” when I test recipes on them!) the kids thought it would be great with ground beef too.

Simple ingredients

These are the ingredients. Pretty simple. I don’t usually go for spice mixes, I prefer to measure out my own, but I’m trying out the seasoning mix below which contains Hing, a spice that gives a subtle onion flavor, and one that I am very unfamiliar with! It was delicious and I didn’t notice the missing onions. Click here to find it on Amazon. I also grabbed the frozen organic three blend peppers mix because it was $3 for the bag instead of buying three organic peppers at $4.99 a pop! The garlic infused oil is a must on a low FODMAP diet. I love me some garlic, but it’s not an option right now. This oil is going in many, many things!
