Don’t you just love the combination of apple and cinnamon? For me, these two luscious ingredients bring good memories from my childhood of comfort and taste that will stay with me forever. My kids and I have grown to love an apple chopped up with a sprinkle of cinnamon warmed in the microwave for an afternoon snack. This Apple Cinnamon Cake recipe brings it all together and has you feeling all the feels. Have it for a snack or dessert warmed up with a bit of yoghurt.. yum!

  • 3 large apples grated
  • 2 cups wholemeal self-raising flour
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup coconut milk or milk of choice
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil melted


  1. Preheat oven to 180/350 degrees.

  2. Add flour and cinnamon to a large bowl and stir to combine.

  3. Add grated apples, milk, eggs and syrup to a separate bowl and stir to combine. 

  4. Add wet mixture to dry and stir. 

  5. Add the melted coconut oil and stir through.

  6. Pour mixture into a lined round cake tin.

  7. Place in the oven for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool in the tin for about 10 minutes before turning out.

  9. Slice and enjoy!
