Two of the loves of my life… chocolate and coffee! Married in a super-yummy shake to get your morning off to a good start. You can use any protein powder for this recipe but I love this Dutch Chocolate Complete one by Juice Plus. It has a good serve of fibre (8g) and is filled with good stuff like pumpkin, pomegranate, spirulina and mushroom powders along with organic amaranth, quinoa and millet, pea protein, broccoli, alfalfa and radish sprouts to name a few! It’s an easy way to get in a good punch of protein too (13g per serve). I just pop my shot of coffee that I would normally have with my breakfast right in the shake and it gives me a nice little kickstart! You can absolutely add some frozen banana in the blender to build it up. I also like to have it post-workout too for a nice muscle building helper.


Mocha Wakeup Shake

  • 250 ml almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 shot of coffee made up to 150ml water
  • 1 sachet Juice Plus Complete Dutch Chocolate
  • 1 heaped tsp almond butter or any nut butter
  • 4 cubes ice


  1. Throw all of the ingredients into a blender or shaker.

  2. Add ice and enjoy!
