Sometimes it’s a bit of a rush to get out the door in the morning at our house. Whether it’s school or sports or wherever we’re going. No matter what time we get up (which is usually pretty early thanks to my youngest child aka alarm clock!), I seem to find lots things to fill the time like putting the washing on, emptying the dishwasher, replying to emails etc etc that could probably wait until later! I think when there’s more time, I fill it with more stuff! So to get my breaky on the go, I like to whizz up a super-quick smoothie to start the day. You can use any protein powder for this recipe but I’ve become obsessed with this yummy vegan Vanilla Complete protein powder. It’s filled with good stuff like pumpkin, pomegranate, spirulina, yucca and mushroom powders along with organic amaranth, quinoa and millet, pea protein, broccoli, alfalfa and radish sprouts to name a few! It’s an easy way to get in a good punch of protein (13g per serve) and throwing in an extra serve of fruit from the berries and veg from the spinach will start your day right.

 

Vanilla Berry Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk or milk of choice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup frozen berries I like raspberries
  • 1 sachet Juice Plus Complete Protein French Vanilla
  • 1 heaped tsp almond butter
  • 1 handful baby spinach

Instructions

  1. Throw all of the ingredients into a blender/food processor.

  2. Blend for about 1 minute.

  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
