Anti-Stress Yoga

It’s that time of year when all the commitments, busyness, running around and travel kicks into high gear. Along with the all the good times comes the potential for us to become stressed in body and mind. It’s important to remember that we’re at our best when we’re calm and centered and when our bodies are functioning well.

There are several ways to do this, so be sure to find what works for you. And please remember that it’s ok for you to take some time to look after yourself!

Try some of these on for size:

  • This daily mindfulness meditation
  • A little downtime with the couch and a good book
  • A luxurious bath
  • This stress-busting HIIT workout
  • Yoga – a great way to de-stress and ease out the build-up of tension in the muscles.

The second video below is a 30-minute yoga practice for all levels. Do your best to get to the end. The last few minutes will wash away so much tension. I’m joined by Joey the yoga dog, who has come a long way since joining our family and my yoga practice a couple of years ago…here’s the “before” video.

Now, while he still loves to “help” in cat/cow and down dog, he is pretty chill for a two-year-old labrador!

Grab your mat, a block if you have one, and some water. Put on some relaxing background music, close out the distractions for the next 30 minutes and invest in some de-stress and relaxation time.

Love,

Claire.
